Understanding Network Activity
Network activity measures real usage of a blockchain — active addresses, transactions, and on-chain volume relative to market cap.
Weight: 12%
What is Network Activity?
Network Activity tracks how much a blockchain is actually being used. Metrics include daily active addresses, transaction count, and on-chain volume. High activity suggests genuine utility, not just speculation.
Why It Matters
A coin with high market cap but low network activity might be overvalued — people are speculating rather than using it. Conversely, high activity with a lower market cap suggests the market hasn't yet priced in the real usage.
How We Use It
Network Activity is weighted at 12% in our Value Score. We use the Volume/MarketCap ratio as a proxy for on-chain activity until dedicated on-chain data sources are integrated.
