Understanding Developer Activity
Developer activity measures the health and momentum of a crypto project's open-source development — commits, PRs, and community contributions.
What is Developer Activity?
Developer Activity tracks GitHub metrics: commits per month, pull requests merged, stars, forks, and open issues. Active development signals a healthy project with ongoing improvements and innovation.
Why It Matters
Crypto projects with declining development often face long-term price declines. Conversely, increasing developer activity — especially from independent contributors — is one of the strongest leading indicators of future value.
How We Use It
Developer Activity is weighted at 10% in our Value Score. We source data from CoinGecko's developer metrics and fall back to rank-based proxies when GitHub data is unavailable.
